Visual Art

Art at Madrona

Every student at Madrona has classes in visual art.

Lessons focus on creative expression, exploration of a variety of art materials and techniques, and grade-level appropriate art projects. Students learn the elements of art — line, shape, form, color, value, texture, and space — how to think creatively, how to work collaboratively, and how to persevere through challenges.

Students will explore painting, drawing, printmaking, clay, and fiber arts as they learn about artists from around the world and the Pacific Northwest. Each student will develop a portfolio of artwork to bring home at the end of the school year.
